Markat

Variety is rich in firm, shapely, juicy orange-red fruits. Additionally, with high resistance and low requirements, thanks to which, apart from commodity cultivation, it is also one of the best varieties for ecological and amateur cultivation.
Fruiting time: Medium-early variety, usually fruits from the first week of June to the end of June.
Size and shape of fruits: Big and attractive fruits. Broadly conical or cylindrical shape, intensely red with gloss.
Taste and firmness: Aromatic and delicious fruits. Juicy pulp, with a red colour. Markat has firm fruit, perfectly endures transport (maintains freshly-picked look for a long time).
Productivity: Very productive, high yield.
Plant type: Strong and moderately strong growth, averagely compact. Blooms profusely.
Resistance: Sufficiently resistance to gray mold (botrytis cinerea). Resistant to common leaf spot (mycosphaerella fragariae) and leaf scorch disease (diplocarpon earlianum) and powdery mildew (sphaerotheca macularis).
Purpose: Valuable for both processing and dessert purposes.
Cultivation type: Recommended for professional and commercial cultivation as well as in ecological production farms. Very good for home and allotment gardens.
*The fruiting time involves traditional cultivation in Poland (Central Europe, moist continental climate) with standard weather conditions. The exact time of strawberries fruiting depends on the local environment, weather conditions in a given season as well as cultivation methods.
The Markat variety is protected by an exclusive variety right. It illegal reproduction (including for the own needs), sale without the consent of the owner of this variety (Research Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice) granted in the form of a license agreement constitutes an offence. The plants can be used only for the production of fruit.
