BL42*Federica®
Strawberry “BL42” Federica® is a late, high-yielding dessert variety with very large, attractive, red, and very firm fruits. It shows strong resistance to adverse weather conditions, including frost and rainfall. It also demonstrates high tolerance to soil-borne and fungal diseases.
Fruiting time: Late variety. It fruits about 4 days after Roxana, around the same time as Florence.
Taste: Very tasty fruits, especially in continental climate regions, including Poland.
Fruit size: Very large fruits.
Attractiveness and fruit shape: Very attractive, conical-shaped fruits.
Fruit color (skin): Intensely red with a glossy finish.
Fruit firmness: Very firm fruits that do not deform easily. Good resistance to rainfall. They maintain high post-harvest durability and are well suited for transport.
Yield: High-yielding variety with excellent productivity.
Plant characteristics: Uniform plants with good vigor and upright growth. Short flower stalks reduce the risk of damage from spring frosts.
Resistance: High resistance to soil-borne pathogens. Highly frost-resistant. Relatively resistant to fungal diseases. Recommended for regions of Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe.
Purpose: Excellent for supermarkets and direct sales due to its taste and visual appeal. Thanks to its firmness and abrasion resistance, it is well suited for transport. Also suitable for processing.
Cultivation type: Due to its properties, it performs well in open-field cultivation and is excellent for organic farming. Also suitable for protected cultivation and hobby growing.
